At the office of Dr. Kevin Moore...
A smile can be the most eye-catching feature of your face. Even a subtle change can make a big difference in the way you look and feel. New techniques like tooth whitening, veneers, crowns, and tooth colored fillings allow us to create a beautiful smile with, at times, only minimal changes to existing teeth. Dr. Moore offers a variety of services designed to create your best smile, and to give you the information that you need to help you make an informed decision regarding your dental care. A picture is worth a thousand of Dr. Moore's words! (All of the photos below are of Dr. Moore's patients.)
Tooth Whitening: You can remove years of stain easily, gently and safely at home. It is now quite easy and inexpensive to lighten your present tooth shade by two or three levels within a few weeks. You are in control and decide how white is most natural looking for you. Bleaching is one of the most patient-satisfying services we have ever offered.
Porcelain Veneers, Inlays, Onlays and Crowns: As close to natural beauty and translucency as you can get—to straighten and reshape front teeth, or cover and protect back teeth. Both shade and shape corrections are easily made with these restorations.
Onlays and Crowns: cover and protect stressed-out teeth from breaking and often prevent the need for root canal treatment or tooth loss.
Tooth-Colored Fillings: We offer tooth-colored fillings and bonding, the natural-looking way to strengthen and reshape teeth. No more ugly, silver fillings that crack teeth.
Dental Implant Reconstruction: Implants act as artificial roots that replace missing teeth and preserve healthy bone for years to come. Implants can support individual tooth replacements for a natural tooth-like appearance, or groups of teeth for a cost effective and long term solution for missing teeth.
Cosmetic Imaging: Like trying on a new set of clothes, cosmetic imaging allows you to see what a new smile would look like. Imaging can whiten, close gaps, lengthen teeth, straighten and otherwise illustrate the effect of the desired changes on the image.
Bridges: Bridges can replace missing teeth while protecting the teeth on each side from breaking. Bridges of varying lengths can replace numerous missing teeth, avoiding the wearing of a removable partial denture.
Prevention: We believe prevention is one of the most important services we can offer. All our patients are encouraged to return at regular intervals for exams and preventive services.
Intra-Oral Camera: Your teeth can be the stars on screen thanks to the technology of the intra-oral video camera. Intra-oral video (see picture at right) allows you to see your teeth as never before (twenty-five times their normal size!). Intra-oral imaging is helpful in the early detection of problems. It's easy to understand what's happening with your teeth since "a picture is worth a thousand words". Intra-oral video evaluation is just one part of our very thorough and detailed examination.
Endodontics (Root Canals): If you have a tooth that has a diseased nerve, it can often be replaced through a specialized procedure called endodontic treatment. The common name for this procedure is "root canal therapy". The treatment today is often completed with little or no discomfort during or after the procedure.
We hope that all your teeth last a lifetime, but if one your teeth should become injured or diseased, root canal therapy can often restore a tooth and give it a second chance.
Limited Oral Surgery (Extractions): Occasionally a tooth must be removed due to advanced disease or fracture. When this occurs, Dr. Moore recommends ridge preservation measures (filling the hole with a bone-like material) to prevent the bone loss that normally occurs after a tooth is lost.
Limited Periodontal (Gum) Treatment: The saying "A house is only as strong as its foundation" holds true when talking about your teeth. Teeth need good support for chewing and function. Periodontal treatment, when necessary, helps keep the tooth supporting structures healthy and strong.
Dentistry for Kids: Many parents are unaware of how important early dental care is in their child's overall health. Dr. Moore recommends that children begin their regular check-up visits at 2 years of age, unless there appears to be a problem, in which case the child should be seen immediately.
The use of professional in-office fluoride treatments, and sealants on the rough chewing surfaces of back teeth (molars) greatly reduces the incidence of decay. Sealants are clear thin plastic coatings that are painlessly applied to your child's teeth, creating a barrier against the bacteria that cause decay.
Note: We highly recommend sealants for adult teeth, as well!
